Design And Construction Of Mitsubishi Plc FX3G 40M Training Kit To Simulate Batch Control Of Water

The design and construction of a Mitsubishi PLC FX3G 40M training kit aimed at simulating batch control of water involves the integration of various components and programming elements to create a comprehensive educational tool. This training kit would encompass hardware components such as the FX3G PLC unit, input/output modules, sensors (like flow sensors and level sensors), actuators (such as valves and pumps), and a Human Machine Interface (HMI) panel. The PLC programming would involve creating ladder logic programs using GX Works2 software to control the batch processes, including filling, mixing, heating, and dispensing of water according to predefined parameters. Emphasis would be placed on practical exercises to simulate real-world scenarios, allowing learners to understand concepts such as batch processing, PID control, and alarm handling. The training kit would serve as a practical learning platform for individuals studying industrial automation and process control, providing hands-on experience in programming and operating Mitsubishi PLC systems for batch control applications in water treatment and related industries.

CHAPTER ONE

1.0                                                        INTRODUCTION

1.1                                           BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Logic modules are programmable controllers which allow machines to perform processes without human intervention. Logic modules are small programmable controllers (PLC) which can be used as small controllers. Unlike conventional switches, in which switching functions are determined by the connections of threads, logic modules record and program such functions in their internal memory (Edward, 2019). Since the memory can be cleared and overtyped, logic modules are very flexible devices. Logic modules can be directly programmed in the device or through the software for more important programming processes. The program consists of different interconnected single components (Edward, 2019).

Therefore, logic modules can be considered as intelligent controllers. Logic modules are mainly used in the industry where complex  installations operate with many different automated processes. However, thanks to modern and affordable logic modules, nowadays it is possible to use them for less important processes and even for private use. These reduced logic modules are able to automate for example, controllers for windows, awnings or small installations in the continuous transport. Some applications, which previously required diverse activators and timers as well as important connection works, can be now performed with logic modules.

This work is on a Mitsubishi PLC fx3G 40m training kit to simulate batch control of water. Mitsubishi Electric’s controller line is one of the widest in the industry. Mitsubishi Is offering spans from Alpha Simple Application Controller with minimum as six I/O points, all the way to the high-end Q Series Automation Platform capable of running entire plants with thousands of I/O.

The Mitsubishi FX3G series logic module has 24 inputs and 16 relay outputs with a contact rating of 8A. This DIN rail mount logic module has a screw termination method. It has a large memory for the applications that require a large space. The logic module has a supply voltage that ranges between 100VAC and 240VAC.

1.2                                                  PROBLEM STATEMENT

Setting up a programmable logic circuit whenever students want to carry out practical on the programmable controller Principles and Applications can be difficult and it involves much labour. Setting up a Mitsubishi FX3N Series programmable controller kit makes it easy in order to facilitate the practice of teaching. the principle and application of programmable logic controller (Mitsubishi models) (3) to the practical application of the theme set up experiments and training content. It can be as vocational and technical education production process automation.
