Design And Construction Of Sound Controlled Lights Circuit

The design and construction of a sound-controlled lights circuit involve creating an electronic system that responds to sound input by illuminating lights accordingly. This circuit typically comprises a microphone to capture sound signals, an amplifier to boost the signal strength, a filter to isolate desired frequency ranges, and a comparator to detect sound levels above a threshold. Additionally, it incorporates a control circuit to regulate the intensity or pattern of the lights in response to the detected sound. By integrating these components effectively, the circuit can exhibit dynamic responsiveness to sound stimuli, enhancing ambiance or facilitating interactive environments. The key aspects of this project lie in the precise calibration of the sensitivity threshold, the efficiency of signal processing, and the versatility in controlling the lighting output based on sound dynamics, ensuring an engaging and immersive experience for users.

ABSTRACT

This sound controlled lights circuit design is used to control the brightness of the lights attached to it in sync with the sound that is being capsulated by its microphone. This electronic circuit design is very common in disco houses, bars, parties.

Usually, sound controlled lights are just connected in parallel with the loudspeakers. The power supply part is on the left of the electric microphone amplifier and the light controller part is on the right. The capacitors C2 and C3 are the capacitive voltage divider and reduces the power supply level. Diodes D1 and D2 rectify the positive swing of the AC voltage. The network composed of L1 and C1 protects the power line from voltages surges. In this circuit design, an electric microphone is being used. Take note that there are 2 types of electric microphone. The first type has three pins for power, ground, and output. The second type has only two pins. The second type is used for this circuit.
