When electricity flows through the tube, it excites the mercury vapor, emitting ultraviolet (UV) light. The phosphor coating converts UV light into visible light, producing illumination. The electronic ballast serves as a crucial component, regulating the flow of electricity to the tube, ensuring stable operation and efficiency while minimizing flickering. Additionally, a starter mechanism initiates the lamp’s operation by supplying a high voltage surge to ionize the gas inside the tube, facilitating the flow of current through the lamp.
