Design And Construction Of A Remote Emergency Alarm For Unmanned Lift

The design and construction of a remote emergency alarm system for unmanned lifts involves integrating advanced sensors, wireless communication modules, and an alarm mechanism to ensure prompt response in case of emergencies. This system typically includes sensors to detect various emergencies such as fire, smoke, or sudden movements. These sensors are strategically placed within the lift cabin and connected to a central control unit. The control unit is equipped with a microcontroller or a programmable logic controller (PLC) responsible for processing sensor data and activating the alarm when necessary. Wireless communication modules like Wi-Fi or GSM enable remote monitoring and control of the alarm system. In the event of an emergency, the system transmits real-time alerts to designated personnel or monitoring centers, allowing swift intervention. Additionally, the alarm system can be equipped with features such as voice communication or video streaming to provide further insights into the situation inside the lift. Through meticulous design and construction, this remote emergency alarm system ensures the safety and security of occupants in unmanned lifts, mitigating risks and facilitating efficient emergency response.

ABSTRACT

In unmanned lifts or elevators, sudden power failure cannot be detected from the remote operating room, and this can prove dangerous for the lift users. This work is on a simple remote emergency alarm circuit that sounds an alarm in the remote lift/elevator control room in the event of power failure. The circuit operates off a 6V DC battery.

If the power shutdown continues, the buzzer would keep sounding and drain the battery. To prevent the battery from draining, the buzzer is made to stop sounding after a predetermined period. As soon as power resumes, the alarm circuit disconnects from the battery and the battery starts charging from mains.
