Design And Implementation Of Automated Patient Information Management System

The purpose of any records management system is to provide accurate information at the right time and at the lowest cost. This is better achieved by designing a computer-based system that would bring about improvement in the care of individual patients, taking the advantage of computer speed, storage and retrieved facilities hence; this would enable fast, adequate and accurate report generation. Patient record management systems in hospital today necessitate a competent administration when handling patient"s information, generating daily, weekly, quarterly and yearly reports for the overall assessment and development of the clinic.

Although, the current Record management system has led to inappropriate data keeping, inaccurate reports, and time consuming in storing, processing and retrieving of information. The tools that would be used to implement the new system are MySQL and PHP as the backend and HTML, CSS, Javascripts as frontend language.

The aim of the study is to design and implement a patient information management system for Trust Charitos Hospital. This will be achieved with the following set of objectives.

• Data about the patient is collected from the medical center or the health information management unit.
• The collected data would be computerized
• JavaScript, PHP and MySQL Server would be used to implement a patient information management System.
