Abstract
The title of this project is the Application of Audio â€" Visual Aids in Teaching in Schools in Igbo â€" Eze North Local Government Area.
The purpose of this study is to apply for audio â€" visual aids in schools in Igbo â€" Eze North local government area in Enugu State, this research work is a descriptive survey research and the researchers selected two hundred (200) subjects from the population of two thousand (2000) people through simple random sampling.
After the research, the researchers found that audio â€" visual aids have a lot of advantages on the teaching of English language in schools in Igboâ€" Eze North local government area.
These advantages are:
Audio visual aids like television and radio makes the lessons to be simple, clear and more understandable.
Audio visual enables the students to perform well in examination.
Audio â€" visual aids reduce the complex nature of teaching English language.
It helps the students to recall lessons in English language.
Audio â€" visual enables the students to gain proficiency in English language.
The following are the recommendations from the researchers
The use of radio as a teaching aids in the teaching of mathematics in secondary school system.
The use of television as a teaching aids in the teaching of science subjects in the secondary school system.

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
5.1 DISCUSSIONS OF THE FINDINGS
Table 1, shows that 45 or 22.5% of the respondents agreed that the sue of teaching aids have effects on the teaching of English language. While 155 which represents 77.5% disagreed.
Table 2 also shows that 24 which is 11.9% agreed that radio is an effective teaching aid of English language. While 176 or 88.1% disagreed with that.
Table 3 equally shows that 155 or 77.5% agreed that the use of teaching aids reduce the complex nature of teaching English language while 45 or 22.5% disagreed.
Table 4, 160 respondents which is 80% represented and agreed that the use of audio visual aids enable the students to gain proficiency in English language while 40 which is 20% disagreed with that.
Table 5 more over has it that 183 which is 91.5% of respondents agreed that the use of radio and television help us as a teaching aid to enhance the learning more especially in the topic like pronunciation and spelling, while that of 17 which is 8.5% of respondents disagreed.
Table 6 shows that 169 respondents or 84.5% agreed that the audio and visual qualities of television helps students to learn and to recall lessons in English language, while 31 of the respondents or 15.5% disagreed with this.
Table 7 shows that 121 or 60.5% of the respondents agreed that students perform very well in English language when audio â€" visual aids is used in English language lessons, while 79 of respondents which is 30.5% disagreed with this.
Table 8 equally shows that 179 respondents which is 89.5% agreed that the use of audio â€" visual aids is important in the teaching of English language, while 21 which is 10.5% of the respondent disagreed.
5.2 IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS
- The findings of the study is that it will make the teachers to use teaching aids in teaching.
- The findings of the study indicate that use of teaching aids enhances student’s ability to learn English language.
5.3 CONCLUSIONS
- That one of the causes or problems of studies in Igbo Eze North local government area who are doing English language is that teachers are not making use of teaching aids in the classroom.
- That teaching aids not appropriately used, may throw confusion as well as create negative impact on the learners.
- That the problems facing them are many unqualified teachers in Igbo â€" Eze North local government in Enugu state who do not know how to use teaching aids in the classroom.
- That there is inadequate provision of teaching aids in many schools in Igbo â€" Eze North to lack of funds. That the recent increase in the number of students affects the students for not using the teaching aids in the classroom.
5.4 RECOMMENDATIONS
The researchers recommend the following topics for further studies.
The use of radio as a teaching aids in the teaching of mathematics in secondary school system.
The use of television as a teaching aids in the teaching of science subjects in the secondary school system.
5.5 SUGGESTIONS FOR FURTHER STUDY
The following suggestions are advanced for further study.
This study could be replicated in another Local Government Area.
