Abstract

This study examines the influence of gender on students’ interest and achievement in biology. Drawing from a sample of 120 participants, the research investigates differences in interest levels and academic performance between male and female students. The findings indicate significant disparities in interest in biology, with female students demonstrating higher levels of engagement in the subject compared to their male counterparts. However, despite these differences in interest, no significant association is observed between gender and academic achievement in biology. Regression analysis further reveals a significant relationship between interest in biology and academic success, emphasizing the importance of fostering student enthusiasm for the subject. These findings underscore the complexity of factors influencing students’ experiences in biology education and highlight the need for inclusive instructional practices and policies to promote gender equity and enhance student engagement and achievement in biology.
