A drawing desk, an essential tool for artists and designers, is meticulously crafted to meet specific requirements. This specialized workspace is designed to provide optimal support for creative endeavors, catering to the diverse needs of artists, architects, and drafters. A standard drawing desk typically features an adjustable drawing surface, allowing users to customize the angle for varied artistic techniques. The incorporation of sturdy materials ensures durability, while ergonomic design elements prioritize user comfort during prolonged creative sessions. The integration of spacious storage compartments and organized tool trays enhances functionality, offering a convenient solution for keeping art supplies within reach. The construction of a standard drawing desk requires a thoughtful blend of precision engineering and artistic sensibility, resulting in a versatile and purposeful workstation tailored to the unique demands of visual expression.

ABSTRACT

This project is a fabrication of a standard drawing writing desk using the cheapest, effective and most readily available materials. Method of maintenance and services were also taken into consideration.
The functional aspect of the equipment was also given adequate consideration in the project work. Also take into consideration the reliability, portability and general values, appearance of the equipment.
A material used for the construction was of best quality, which have excellent physical and chemical properties. These materials includes the plywood, Aluminum, sheets knots, screws, Black. Bather cover, chemical gum and safety keys.
Finally having used these materials of Best quality to produce a standard drawing desk (equipment). And after being tested was found to be efficient and can be used for private purposes, commercial purposes as well as in companies.

INTRODUCTION

There could have been no development in the world without the art of Drawing when is the immediate expression of creative process as it evolves.
It is sufficient to note that drawing in designing was with engineers did to produce for that manufacturers what they needed.
The level of any nation cannot be fas fetched if not for due invention of modern instrument in the country. The equipment is produced in such a way that it is effective, convient and economically feasible and does no in any way impair the heath of the citizenry. All the effort used in the venation of this instrument is to make life more easier and meaningful. This invention cannot be over emphasized without drawing. Drawing contributes immensely in several areas of engineering work. For instance in communication, documentation of information design of equipment and flexibly in design cannot be obtained without the help of a standard drawing desk.
As an engineer, the fact that he has to design, operate and optimize the complete process makes drawing a necessity and the means through which this can be done is by the use of a standazied drawing desk. So, for this purpose this project was embarked upon so that every member of the group knows how to produce a standardized drawing desk without difficulties.

TYPES OF DRAWING DESK
Adjustable.
Non Adjustable.
There are two different types of drawing desk which are listed above. In this chapter we are going to discuss the important or merits and disadvantages of this drawing desk.

ADJUSTABLE DRAWING DESK
This is the latest invalid drawing desk that is most efficient, effective and best for construction of any type of object because is adjustable. In this type of drawing desk it cab be adjustable to any length or lowered to any length through the aid of gears. Its varying height mechanism enable the drawing desk to be adjustable to any length.

ADVANTAGES OF ADJUSTABLE DRAWING DESK
(i) People with much height difference can use the same drawing table.
(ii) Its usage is less boring when compared to non adjustable..
(iii) Jobs are been carried out faster due to additional equipments to the drawing desk.

DISADVANTAGES OF ADJUSTABLE DRAWING DESK
(1) It is expensive to produce
(2) People using should be literate on how best they can use it to prevent being harmed.

MORE DESCRIPTION:

Construction Of A Standard Drawing Desk:

Building a standard drawing desk can be a rewarding DIY project for artists, architects, or anyone who needs a dedicated space for drawing, sketching, or drafting. Here are the steps to construct a basic drawing desk:

Materials You’ll Need:

Plywood: For the desk surface and any additional shelves or storage compartments you may want to add.

Lumber: For the frame and legs of the desk. Common choices are pine, oak, or poplar.

Screws: To secure the desk components together.

Wood Glue: For extra stability.

Saw: To cut the wood to the desired dimensions.

Measuring Tape: To ensure accurate measurements.

Sandpaper: For smoothing rough edges and surfaces.

Power Drill: To create pilot holes for screws and assemble the desk.

Paint or Finish: To protect and decorate the desk.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Design Your Desk: Determine the size and design of your drawing desk. Consider factors like the height, width, and depth. A standard desk is typically around 30 inches (76 cm) tall, 48 inches (122 cm) wide, and 24 inches (61 cm) deep. Adjust these measurements to suit your needs.

Gather Materials: Purchase the necessary materials listed above from a hardware store.

Cut the Wood: Use a saw to cut the plywood for the desk surface to your desired dimensions. Cut the lumber into pieces for the desk’s frame and legs. You’ll need four legs and four pieces for the frame (two for the length and two for the width).

Assemble the Frame: Lay out the frame pieces on the ground or a workbench. Use wood glue and screws to attach the frame components together. Make sure the corners are square (use a carpenter’s square for accuracy). The frame will provide stability and support for the desk surface.

Attach the Legs: Attach the four legs to the corners of the frame. Ensure they are securely fastened with screws and are level to prevent wobbling.

Attach the Desk Surface: Place the plywood desk surface on top of the frame. You can secure it with screws from underneath or use L-brackets for a more discreet attachment. Make sure it’s centered and secure.

Sand and Finish: Sand any rough edges or surfaces to create a smooth finish. You can then paint or apply a wood finish to protect and decorate your desk. Let it dry thoroughly before use.

Optional: Add Accessories: Depending on your needs, you can add a pencil drawer, storage shelves, or a built-in light to your drawing desk. These additions can enhance its functionality.

Test and Adjust: Before you start using your drawing desk, ensure it’s stable and level. Make any necessary adjustments to the legs to ensure it’s comfortable to work at.

Personalize: Decorate your desk as desired with accessories, organizers, or a comfortable chair to create an ideal workspace.

Building a drawing desk can be a fun and satisfying project, allowing you to customize it to your specific needs and style preferences. Make sure to take safety precautions when working with tools and follow any local building codes or regulations.
