The Impact Of Using Graphic Organizer In Teaching Economics In Secondary School Complete Project Material (PDF/DOC)
This study was carried out to examine the impact of using graphic organizer in teaching Economics in secondary school using some selected secondary schools in Ajah, Lagos State. The study was specifically set to ascertain the extent graphic organizers are adopted for the teaching of Economics in secondary schools, find out whether the use of graphic organizers facilitates the effective teaching and learning of Economics in secondary schools, find out whether the utilization of graphic organizers helps to stimulate students’ interest towards the active participation in Economics teaching process, determine whether the use of graphic organizers for the teaching of Economics improves students’ comprehension and retention ability in secondary schools, and determine whether the use of graphic organizers for the teaching of Economics improves students’ competence and academic performance in secondary schools. The survey design was adopted and the simple random sampling techniques were employed in this study. The population size comprise of Economics teachers and students in some selected secondary schools in Ajah, Lagos State. In determining the sample size, the researcher purposefully selected 200 respondents and 150 were validated. Self-constructed and validated questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected and validated questionnaires were analyzed using frequency tables. While the hypotheses were tested using Chi-square statistical tool. The result of the findings reveals that the use of graphic organizers facilitate the effective teaching and learning of Economics in secondary schools. Furthermore, the study reveals that the use of graphic organizers for the teaching of Economics enhance students’ competence and academic performance in secondary schools. Therefore, it is recommended that the use of graphic organizer in teaching Economics in secondary schools should be encouraged since they facilitate learning. To mention but few.
