Impact Of Infertility On Marriage Success Among Married Couples

This study was carried out on the impact of infertility on marriage success among married couples in Vwang community.The study was carried out to determine whether infertility results to martial dissatisfaction among married couples,determine whether married couples experiences abusive treatment from spouse as a result of infertility,determine whether couples experiences physical and mental health challenges as a result of infertility,ascertain whether couples experiences termination of marriage as a result of infertility, ascertain the extent infertility affects the tranquil and success of marriages in Vwang community.The survey design was adopted and the simple random sampling techniques were employed in this study. The population size comprised of married couples in Vwang community. In determining the sample size, the researcher conveniently selected 70 respondents and 70 were validated. Self-constructed and validated questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected and validated questionnaires were analyzed using frequency tables, while the hypotheses will be tested using Pearson Correlation statistical tool, SPSS v23. The result of the findings reveals that infertility result to marital dissatisfaction among married couples in Vwang community.The study also revealed that the extent infertility affects the tranquil and success of marriages in Vwang community is high.Therefore, it is recommended that most of the childless married couples have financial problems to receive medical treatments, hence government should give due attention in developing short term plans and programs that create affordable and accessible medical treatments for infertility and that guarantee old age security for the socially disadvantaged elderly childless married couples. To mention but a few.

The overall aim of this study is to critically assess the impact of infertility on marriage success among married couples in Vwang community. Hence, the study will be channeled to the following specific objectives;

1. Determine whether infertility results to martial dissatisfaction among married couples.
2. Determine whether married couples experiences abusive treatment from spouse as a result of infertility.
3. Determine whether couples experiences physical and mental health challenges as a result of infertility.
4. Ascertain whether couples experiences termination of marriage as a result of infertility.
5. Ascertain the extent infertility affects the tranquil and success of marriages in Vwang community.

This study will be guided by the following questions;

1. Does infertility results to martial dissatisfaction among married couples?
2. Does married couples experience abusive treatment from spouse as a result of infertility?
3. Does couples experience physical and mental health challenges as a result of infertility?
4. Does couples experience termination of marriage as a result of infertility?
