This research work is on Automated Information System for Urban Taxi Management using Akwa Ibom Transport Company (AKTC), in Uyo as a case study. Taxis serve as one of the major means of transporting people from one location to the other especially in urban regions. Many parks do not have an automated system to register the owners of the taxis so that in the case of any problem or report about any taxi driver, the identity of the taxi driver can be quickly presented. The system serves as a database to enable the easy storage and retrieval of taxi owners/drivers information. The benefit of this system is that it will serve as an information system to the management of the park, making them to operate at a higher standard. This research study presents useful information pertaining how taxis can be regulated and taxi applications that are utilized in developed countries. The programming language used is Visual Basic 6.0. it is used because it enables creating a graphical user interface and creating a connection to database.
