Overview

ABSTRACT

Electric shock gun uses a temporary high-voltage low-current electrical discharge to override the body’s muscle-triggering mechanisms. The recipient is immobilized via two metal probes connected via wires to the electroshock device. The recipient feels pain, and can be momentarily paralyzed while an electric current is being applied

Electric shock guns are devices that put out a non lethal, high voltage shock!  Touching an attacker will immobilized him for several minutes. The advantage of an electric stun gun is that it is non lethal and does no permanent damage. In spite this fact your attacker can be immobilized for as long as 15 minutes. Exactly how long depends on the voltage of the electric shock gun and the duration of contact.

CHAPTER ONE

1.0                                                          INTODUCTION

An electroshock weapon is an incapacitated weapon used for incapacitating a person by administering electric shock aimed at disrupting superficial muscle functions and/or causing pain without significantly hurting the subject.

Multiple types of these devices exist differing by the mode of use. Stun guns, batons (or prods), and belts administer an electric shock by direct contact, whereas Tasers (conducted electrical weapons, CEW) fire projectiles that administer the shock through thin flexible wires. Long-range electroshock projectiles, which can be fired from ordinary shotguns and do not need the wires, have been developed as well.

The electric stun gun tricks the muscles of an attacker, making them do a great deal of work rapidly. This instantly depletes the attacker’s blood sugar by converting it to lactic acid. In short, he is unable to produce energy for his muscles, and his body becomes unable to function. This process is what makes electronic stun guns so simple yet effective.

Electric shock guns do not rely on high amperage, or pain, for results.
The gun is designed to key into the nervous system.  It interrupts the tiny neurological impulses that travel through the whole body to control and direct voluntary muscle movement.  When the assailant’s neuromuscular system is overwhelmed and controlled by the electronic shock gun, instant disorientation and loss of balance will result.

Using electric stun guns are not dangerous. Should the assailant be touching you, the current will not pass to your body!  Stun guns are a great protection device, but you should always be aware that these devices are not toys, and should not be treated as such.

1.2                                             OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

The objective of this project is to construct a device that interrupts the tiny neurological impulses that travel through the whole body to control and direct voluntary muscle movement when make contact with living body, whether human being or animals.

1.3                                         APPLICATIONS OF THE PROJECT

  1. It can be used for security purpose for individuals from intruders.
  2. It can be used as protection from animals.
  3. It can be used as modern warfare equipment.
     1.4                                      LIMITATIONS OF THE PROJECT
  1. Since this involves high voltage pulse production, the circuit is hazardous and should be implemented on hardware with uttermost care and precaution.
  2. One should not touch the output with bare hands as this high voltage, low current signal can send shock waves through the body, disrupting the nervous system.
  3. While designing the circuit, factors like corona discharge, stray capacitance are not taken into account, which may affect the output.
  4. This circuit should never be used in presence of persons with cardiac issues.
  5. It is actually to get a 9:1000 step up transformer at low frequency and its construction is quite complex.

1.5                                         SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT

Electric stun guns are devices that put out a non lethal, high voltage shock,  Touching an attacker will immobilized him for several minutes. The advantage of an electric stun gun is that it is non lethal and does no permanent damage. In spite this fact your attacker can be immobilized for as long as 15 minutes. Exactly how long depends on the voltage of the electric stun gun and the duration of contact.

1.6                                         METHODOLOGY

To achieve the aim and objectives of this work, the following are the steps involved:

  1. Study of the previous work on the project so as to improve it efficiency.
  2. Draw a block diagram.
  • Test for continuity of components and devices,
  1. Design and calculation for the changeover was carried out.
  2. Studying of various component used in circuit.
  3. Construct a digital changeover circuit.
  • Finally, the whole device was cased and final test was carried out.

1.7                                                         PROJECT ORGANISATION

The work is organized as follows: chapter one discuses the introductory part of the work, chapter two presents the literature review of the study, chapter three describes the methods applied, chapter four discusses the results of the work, chapter five summarizes the research outcomes and the recommendations.
