ABSTRACT

In the modern world though there are many developments in the field of engineering. Still there are difficulties to carry heavy loads from place to place. Development of lift simplifies the effort of carrying heavy loads from place to place, it is not possible to use lift in all places like schools, college’s constructional areas. This project aims at developing a mechanism for easy transportation of heavy loads (up to 3000kg) from place to place. The need for such arises from day to day requirements in our society. Devices such as hand trolleys are used to relieve the stresses of carrying object from one place to another.

The aim of this work is to fabricate a four-wheel trolley that is capable of carrying a load of 3000kg (3 tonnes) from one place to another.

CHAPTER ONE

1.0                                                        INTRODUCTION

In day today life we may have to carry so many goods and objects of various quantities from one place to another especially in offices, schools, colleges, hotels, industries, apartments etc. where the lifts may not be available, may be crowded with people or may be under repair .It is highly tiresome to carry various objects through stairs manually for higher floors for so many times. The various applications may be carrying bundles of answer sheets in a school or a college, carrying furniture in different buildings, different apparatus in colleges, in hospitals etc., carrying electronic items in houses and offices .So there should be a way to carry the objects from place to place in a more comfortable and tireless manner without forcing the user to apply more force [1].

This four-wheel trolley has the ability of carrying 3000kg load, moving and unloading of supplies easy with it’s heavy-duty wheels, a versatile pulling handle and a convenient tipping mechanism. Maintenance-free, rust resistant and easy to clean, a reliable cart such as this is essential for reducing the strain of any land maintenance project [2].

For this chapter, it is about discussion of the project background, problem statement, objective of the project, and significance of the project, application of the project and lastly scope of the project.

1.1                                                PROJECT BACKGROUND

Trolley is equipment used to move heavy loads from one place to another. It can reduce the human burden in their daily lives [1].

This device is commonly used by a large number of industries to transport physical products. Trolley is often used by those who organize and stock merchandise in retail stores restock. When used properly, trolley can protect people from having back injuries and other health problems that can result from lifting and carrying heavy loads [2].

 

1.2                                             OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

Carrying heavy objects from one place to another are not painless jobs, especially where there are no lifting facilities (elevator, conveyer, etc.). Moreover, most of the buildings are structurally congested and do not have elevators or escalators.

The main objective of this work is to construct a four wheel trolley that is capable of carrying a load of 3000kg.

1.3                                              PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

The purpose of this work is to introduce a new option for the transportation of loads from place to place.

1.3                                         SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT

Nowadays there are many equipment developed for warehouses to make the jobs easier and simple. Important job in warehouses to do is to carry, lift and move boxes or any luggages. Uses of trolleys helps in transporting any heavy loads or luggage’s, additionally there are facts that increase efficiency in the workplace. Different warehouses will need different kinds of equipment that won’t cause any injuries or problems to workers [3].

1.4                                          APPLICATION OF THE PROJECT

This device can be used in places like offices, schools, colleges, hotels, industries, apartments etc. where the lifts may not be available, for moving goods, luggages or object from one place to another.

1.5                                                  PROBLEM STATEMENT

The only problem notice in this work is on the cost. This machine is of higher cost compared to other types of trolley due to standard materials used which made it possible to carry such loads
