Human Relations Skills Required Of Office Technology And Management Graduates In Business Organization

Abstract

This study examined human relations skills required of office technology and management graduates in business organization with special reference to MB white company, Australia. Specifically, the study examine the various human relations skills required in a business organization. The study also find out the impact of human relations skills on office technology and management graduates in a business organization. The study further investigate the challenges of office technology and management graduates in having human relations skills. Lastly, the study recommend ways of improving human relations skills of office technology and management graduates in a business organization. A total of 30 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that the various human relations skills required in a business organization giving positive feedback to employees being sensitive to their individual needs and showing a willingness to empower subordinates. Also, the impact of human relations skills on office technology and management graduates is that It brings about job satisfaction improve communication and collaboration amongst employee groups and teams in the workplace and It it brings about job retention. Furthermore, some of the the challenges of office technology and management graduates are evolving cyber security threats digital transformation and outsourcing. Lastly, some of the recommended ways of improving human relations skills of office technology and management is to cultivate a positive outlook, control your emotions and practice active listening. The study thereby recommendsthat office technology and management graduates in a business organization should attend lectures, seminar, conferences and workshops relating to human relations in order to know what good human relations entails. Also, human relations and communication skills should be emphasized at different levels of training both at the pre-service and in service training of OTM graduate workers in order to endow them with relevant skills they are expected to have in their workplaces. Lastly, the OTM graduates should be made to imbibe the habit of reading journals, attending to workshops and seminars to improve on their skills so as to be effective and efficient in the operations of modern offices.

1.1 Background of the Study

Human relation skills required of an office technology graduate have been studied with particular reference to office technology and management graduates in business organization in MB white company. The basic concept of the office technology graduates and human relations were considered along with duties, responsibilities, and attributes of an office worker. Information relates to the study was acquired through questionnaires. An analysis showed that underlying factors. An analysis showed motivation and empathy also affect the efficiency and entire skills of an office technology graduate in business organization. The result emphasized the need to train an office technology graduate have mutual dealing, harmonious relationship and the need to be abreast with technology changes regarding office practice.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

Development and innovation in technology have brought about tremendous changes in today’s offices and business environments. These innovations demand grater responsibilities and improved performance on the part of OTM graduates in view of their vital role in processing office information. This implies that today’s office managers who are unable to cope with the demands of office technology will become irrelevant, low priced or even unemployed as the case may be.

Many office managers see that task of management worker relations as the simplistic process of just providing workers with more of the good things of life and by so doing, productivity will skyrocket. They rationalize that any more of anything desirable given to the workers or any less of anything undesirable motivate that worker. As a result of the foregoing, this study is therefore aimed to investigate human relations skills required of office technology and management graduates in business organization.

1.3 Objective of the Study

The general objective of the study is to investigate the human relations skills required of office technology and management graduates in business organization. Specifically, the study will be guided under the following:

To examine the various human relations skills required in a business organization.

To find out the impact of human relations skills on office technology and management graduates in a business organization.

To investigate the challenges of office technology and management graduates in having human relations skills.

To recommend ways of improving human relations skills of office technology and management graduates in a business organization.

 

1.4 Research Questions

The following questions have been prepared for the study:

What are the various human relations skills required in a business organization?

What is the impact of human relations skills on office technology and management graduates in a business organization?

What are the challenges of office technology and management graduates in having human relations skills?

What are the recommended ways of improving human relations skills of office technology and management graduates in a business organization?

 

1.5 Significance of the Study

This study will be significant to both public and private business organization as they will be be exposed to the needs of having a an employee who has good human relations skill in other to drive growth for a business organization.

This study will also be significant to the academic community as it will contribute to the existing literature.

1.6 Scope of the Study

This study will examine the various human relations skills required in a business organization. The study will also find out the impact of human relations skills on office technology and management graduates in a business organization. The study will further investigate the challenges of office technology and management graduates in having human relations skills. Lastly, the study will recommend ways of improving human relations skills of office technology and management graduates in a business organization. Hence this study will be delimited to MB white company

1.7 Limitation of the Study

Like in every human endeavour, the researchers encountered slight constraints while carrying out the study. Insufficient funds tend to impede the efficiency of the researcher in sourcing for the relevant materials, literature, or information and in the process of data collection (internet, questionnaire, and interview), which is why the researcher resorted to a moderate choice of sample size. More so, the researcher will simultaneously engage in this study with other academic work. As a result, the amount of time spent on research will be reduced.
