The Design And Construction Of Laser Security System Using Arduino (PDF/DOC)
ABSTRACT
This project is also an implementation of modern technology. We have designed and developed an arduino based laser security system, using alarm and SMS based security. The LASER (Light Amplification by stimulated emission of radiation) security is the initial and major security and GSM is the secondary security we have implemented. Here a particular place or area will be laser secured. If the laser is interrupted by any reason then alarm will turn on and GSM will confirm you by sending a SMS that, security is interrupted. Here we have used a photo sensor to detect the laser light and used SIM 808 GSM device for SMS confirmation. Here by reflecting the laser light with mirror, a particular space has been secured by laser, A program has been developed and burnt into the microcontroller of the Arduino module. This system is constructed and tested and found to work satisfactory. The developed system can be used for any security purposes. Example: Bank Vault Security (to secure the bank vault room), Museum (where a lot of ancient and precious things are preserved), Offices (where unauthorized entry is prohibited) and so on.

- INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT
Security is a most important factor today. Technology develops day by day in the world. The crime gang also improves their technology to perform their operation. So technology of security should be modern with time to protect the crime works. We decide to make a security project as our project. In this project we have used laser light to cover a large area. We know laser light goes through long distance without scattering effect. It’s also visible only at source and incident point, otherwise invisible. These two properties help us to build up a modern security system, which may name as “laser security”. When any person or object crossover the laser line the security alarm will ringing and also the focus light will “on” to focus the entrance of unauthorized person. We can make a security boundary of single laser light by using mirror at every corner for reflection. Siren is a device that produces loud noise. They are the means communication. Sirens can be seen in emergency vehicles such as police cars, ambulances and fire engines. Generally, sirens are used as indication or warning. There are different circuits to produce different sirens. Here in this project a screaming siren lights circuit is presented. Screaming siren lights are those which produces siren depending on the light intensity falling on the circuit. We can also call it as Laser Based Security alarm as it is a Light Activated Alarm circuit. The circuit illustrated here is a burglar alarm. LDR is place at such a place that when the thief enters our house then a connection of beam of light and LDR is disrupted by the intruder and the buzzer goes off. When a ray of light is interrupted by anything, the LDR used in the circuit changes its resistance and causes the buzzer to go off, producing a large siren, scaring the intruders away. Circuit can be easily modified to make the police siren a simple alarming sound. If once the alarm circuit is on it will still ringing until push the reset button. There is two option of ringing. One is the duration of ringing depends on preset timer and another reset manually. If anybody wants to bind a sensitive area with the single ray he has to use mirror at every corner to reflect it. The system has built with low cost and high performance. The power consumption of the system is very low.
1.2 PROBLEM STATEMENT
The need for having a constant home protection has always been there. But in the recent times, considering a dramatic rise in petty crimes like robbery and theft, the need has been more strongly felt to have a fool proof protection of the belongings and the family members. Home security has come a long way in the last few decades. It was in the hands of a guard who manually provided surveillance during nights in the earlier days, but it was not fool proof as it was only normal for him to have momentary lapse of concentration. This device brought solution to this need. It ensures adequate protection against intruders.
1.3 AIM OF THE PROJECT
The aim of Laser Security system is to design a security device that will:
- Totally reduces man power.
- Prevent the entry of unauthorized person in the particular area.
- And also improve the security system.
- To provide a very modern and high sensitive system.
1.4 OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The objective of this project is to develop a modern security system, in which the laser security uses to ON the buzzer in the case of entry intruders during the absence of the owner. The laser pointer is used as the source of light beam. If somebody tries to break the laser path, then an alarm will be generated in a few seconds. Normally laser door alarm circuit will have two sections. Laser transmitter is a laser pointer readily available. This is powered with 5 volt DC supply and fixed on one side of the door frame.
1.5 PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
The purpose of this work is to design a security device that uses laser light and a light sensor for protection of our homes, offices, banks, lockers etc. from intrusion and unauthorized access
1.6 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
Laser based Security System is a type of security and alarm system that uses laser light and a light sensor. A security system protects our homes, offices, banks, lockers etc. from intrusion and unauthorized access. There are different types of security systems available and laser based security system is an important and efficient type.
A Laser security system can acts as a standalone system, which makes some sound or noise when it detects any irregular activity, or can be part of a much bigger security and home automation system, which can send messages, call the owner etc.
- The circuit, construction and setup for the Laser Security System is very simple.
- If used with a battery, the laser security system can work even when there is a power outage.
1.7 LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT
- The laser security system works only if the laser is obstructed. If the intruder passes without obstructing the laser, it is considered as a failure.
- In order to secure a larger area, we need more lasers and corresponding sensors.
1.8 APPLICATIONS OF THE PROJECT
Laser Security System can be used in safety lockers in our homes, where even if the locker’s code is hacked, it acts as an additional layer of security.
- Apart from security systems, this laser based setup can also be used to check if pets or babies crossed a certain boundary.
- This security system protects our homes, offices, banks, lockers etc. from intrusion and unauthorized access.
1.9 PROJECT MOTIVATION
Security is a most important factor today. Technology develops day by day in the world. The crime gang also improves their technology toper form their operation. Our project provides complete information on the topic “Laser Security Alarm System” and maximum efforts have been taken to make the project more comprehensive and lucid to understand. Our project covers a variety of sub topics like its working, setup, uses in life and different aspects of Laser Security Alarm System
